The organization rejected the appointment of Kirill Shevchenko
European Boxing Confederation recognizes as acting and legal president Boxing Federation of Ukraine (FBU) Vladimir Prodivus.
In a letter from the head of the organization, Ioannis Philippatos, sent to the FBU, it is stated that “each country can have only one state boxing federation.”
Earlier, the International Boxing Association (IBA) recognized Volodymyr Prodivus as the legitimate president of the FBU and sent a corresponding letter to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and the FBU.
On February 22, an extraordinary reporting and election conference of the FBU was held at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. Representatives of 17 regional federations elected Kirill Shevchenko as the new president of the FBU.
On June 20, the Boxing Federation of Ukraine sent an open letter to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, in which it announced the raider seizure of the organization.
In May, Prodivus joined the IBA Board of Directors. Russian Umar Kremlev was re-elected as the President of the International Boxing Association, however, due to a number of violations, new elections of the head of the organization will be held.
