American boxer Brandon Glanton admitted that the fight with Russian Alexei Egorov was difficult for him.
On Friday in Moscow, Glanton knocked out Egorov in the 11th round in a fight for the WBA International cruiserweight belt. Glanton is known to Russian audiences for his March 2023 fight with Soslan Asbarov, when the American lost by majority decision. The American has 20 victories and two defeats. Egorov suffered the second defeat of his career with 12 victories.
“I promised I would finish this fight ahead of schedule, and I did.” But Alexey is a real champion. He’s the first boxer who gave me a lot of problems for the first time in a long time,” Glanton said immediately after the fight.
Egorov said a few words after the knockout.
“I missed a good blow to the liver, I couldn’t get up,” Egorov was laconic.
