A confident victory for the Russians at the ONE FRIDAY FIGHTS 66 tournament

ONE Championship’s weekly ONE Friday Fights tournament took place on June 7 at Lumpini Stadium in Bangkok. Tuvan Torepchi Dongak and Evgeniy Antonov from Moscow won the first victories in fights according to MMA rules. Evgeniy Antonov makes ONE Championship debut with dramatic win

Previously undefeated Russian fighter Evgeny Antonov maintained a “clean” record and made his debut in the ONE Championship with a resounding victory over Islam Kukaev in a fight according to MMA rules in the intermediate weight up to 70 kg.

Antonov, without flinching, withstood the initial onslaught of Kukaev, who managed to land several takedowns and strikes on the ground. However, after getting up, Antonov took control of the fight. He methodically worked with precise strikes and combinations, then, having made a takedown, began to mercilessly finish off his opponent with elbows from a middle position, to which Kukaev could not respond.

As a result, the referee stopped the fight at 4:50 of the first round, and the 25-year-old Antonov (4-0, 1-0 ONE) earned his fourth victory, three of them by stoppage and won in the first. round.

Torepchi Dongak scored a crushing victory over Hiroto Masuda

Tuvan Torepchi Dongak showcased his physical prowess with a dominant stoppage victory over Hiroto Masuda in the first round of their ONE strawweight (56.7kg) bout. This fight was a real triumph for Dongak (2-1).

The fighter immediately began actively attacking, meeting ONE Championship debutant Masuda with a series of low blows. The Japanese fighter attempted to take the fight to the ground, but Dongak successfully defended against the takedowns.

Dongak showed off his stand-up skills by landing clean shots on Masuda.

At the end of the first round, Dongak pinned Masuda with two knees to the head. The weakened Japanese fighter fell to the canvas and Dongak finished him off with a series of downward strikes that went unanswered.

Other fights from the OFF 66 tournament

In the main event of the OFF 66 card, ISKA kickboxing world champion Akram Hamidi destroyed Thai veteran and stadium champion Rajademnen Kongchai with body shots at 1:41 of the first round. The fight took place according to the rules of Muay Thai in ONE strawweight (up to 56.7 kg). Hamidi received a $10,000 bonus for his outstanding performance.

Yod-IQ won the confrontation with Uzbek fighter Mavlud Tifiev. He worked hard with body shots from the second minute of the first round. The referee stopped the fight at 1:58 in the 149.8 lb (67.9 kg) catchweight Muay Thai bout. The Thai fighter’s bounty was $10,000.

Seksan Feiertex defeated Azerbaijan’s Amil Dhakhmarzadeh by unanimous decision in a three-round ONE Flyweight (61.2 kg) Muay Thai fight.
