Russian Mavlet, double Olympic champion Batirov will be inducted into the United World Wrestling (UWW) Hall of Fame before the Paris Olympics, according to the official website of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR).
Batirov will become the 24th Russian representative in the UWW Hall of Fame. Batirov, who competed in weight categories up to 55 and 60 kg, won gold at the Olympic Games in Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008). The Russian also won gold and bronze at the World Championships (2006, 2007).
Previously, the UWW allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in international competitions with neutral status.
The Paris Summer Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
