The parties must agree on the terms of the fight by August 31
The World Boxing Association (WBA) officially obliged the Ukrainian boxer Artem Dalakyan (21-0, 15 KOs) to defend the world flyweight title against the Costa Rican David Jimenez (12-0, 9 KOs)
The parties will start discussing the date and other conditions of the fight. The WBA has given time until August 31 to resolve all key issues regarding the organization of the title fight.
Earlier, Jimenez defeated American Ricardo Sandoval (20-2, 15 KOs) in a duel for the status of a mandatory contender for the WBA belt, owned by a Ukrainian. According to the results of the 12-round fight, the judges gave the victory to the Costa Rican by a majority of votes.
Dalakyan, 34, won the world title in 2018. In November 2021, in a duel against Luis Concepción, the Ukrainian successfully defended the belt for the fifth time.
