The 12-round fight between Gadzhimagomedov and Zhuoxin will headline the IBA Night of Champions show. Gadzhimagomedov has three victories in the professional ring. The Russian held his last professional fight in December at the IBA Night of Champions tournament in Dubai, defeating German Arthur Mann ahead of schedule. At the end of April in Belgrade, Gadzhimagomedov triumphed at the European Championships in the weight category up to 92 kg.
Zhaoxin took first place in the WBA rankings at 101.6 kg with a second-round knockout victory over Russian Evgeny Romanov. This fight took place in February in Yekaterinburg. Zhaoxin has experience in championship fights – in July 2021, the Chinese lost to Belgian Riyad Merhi in a fight for the WBA cruiserweight belt. Gadzhimagomedov occupies the sixth position in the WBA bridgeweight rankings.
In the tournament’s co-main event in Serpukhov, 2020 Olympic champion Russian Albert Batyrgaziev (10-0, KO 7) will challenge for the WBA interim super featherweight title with Ireland’s Jono Carroll (24-2-1, KO 7).
The show will be broadcast live on July 12 in Serpukhov by the channel.
