They fought for the WBC interim light heavyweight title. The fight lasted all 12 rounds and ended with Benavidez winning by decision. On the judges’ cards, the American had a serious advantage – 116-112, 117-111, 119-109.
Thus, Benavidez won the WBC interim light heavyweight title.
