The International Olympic Committee last week named 14 Russian athletes who, as of June 15, had received neutral status to participate in the 2024 Games. Among them are 10 wrestling representatives. Three of them are from Dagestan – Shamil Mamedov, Abdulla Kurbanov and Magomed Murtazaliev.
— All wrestlers from Dagestan go to the Olympics. Everyone who is admitted will be ready. We hope that the decision of the International Olympic Committee is not yet final. We will protest as best we can and try to ensure that other athletes are allowed in as well. We hope that others will be added to the athletes already admitted. We understand that it is not easy, but at this stage it is,” Budunov told .
