Dagestan-born MMA fighter Magomed Gadzhiyasulov said after his first UFC fight that he now competes under the flag of Bahrain, as he previously represented that country at the amateur level.
In his UFC debut, 30-year-old light heavyweight Gadzhiyasulov defeated Brazilian Brandson Ribeiro by majority decision. The fighter’s statistics are nine victories in nine fights.
— What are your impressions of the battle?
— I had planned to fight standing up, I practiced boxing a lot with my coach Samir, I am a little disappointed with this fight. I expected a brilliant debut from me, I wanted to show off some counterattacks that I had practiced a lot. It turned out how it happened.
