Russian mixed style fighter, member of the SVO Vladimir Minev admitted that long separations from his family take getting used to, both for him and his young children.
In September 2022, Mineev received a summons and joined the Russian Armed Forces in February 2023. Several times the fighter returned from the SVO zone to participate in battles. Vladimir and his wife Ekaterina have two children: their son Mikhail, born in 2021, and their daughter Vera, born in June last year.
On July 20, Mineev will fight in Moscow under boxing rules with Magomed Ismailov. On Sunday, a press conference took place with the participation of the fighters.
— Are you able to see your family, your daughter?
— This is actually a complex subject. When children grow up away from you and you see them with long breaks, it always takes getting used to for them and for you. I happened to have the opportunity and we visited St. Petersburg and celebrated my daughter’s birthday. Of course, the first time without family is a challenge. My wife even said: “Probably, in order not to have to sit with the children, you signed up for the SVO. » It is clear that everything is not so simple. But they are my children… I can say like all fathers who have a daughter: a daughter is different. More tender and respectful than his son. The attitude towards my son is different again… The longer you don’t see them, the more you love them.
— To what extent do you think your comrades at the front will be encouraged by your possible victory over Ismailov?
“I think the victory will boost their morale not only morally, but also financially.” But when you’re there, what happens here is like you turn on the television, turn it off and stay in your own world. In any case, it will be a plus for them, but I think that they and we are all looking forward to another victory, ”reports the correspondent of , reporting Mineev’s words.
