On August 5, Russian Vyacheslav Datsik will fight under the rules of MMA with American Jeff Monson, who received Russian citizenship in 2015. There is not so much of a sports component in this clash, the whole talk boils down to this: what damage will Datsik Monson inflict. To understand where such a formulation of the question comes from, just look at the statistics… But first, a little spoiler: Datsik suggests not to worry about the health of the “Russian peasant”.
Because of the 51 (!) Monson 60 wins (41 ahead of schedule), 26 losses (13 ahead of schedule) and one draw in MMA. The “snowman” really at one time represented a formidable force in martial arts, meeting such rivals as Fedor Emelianenko, Ivan Shtyrkov, Alexander Emelianenko, Alexei Oleinik, Satoshi Ishii, Magomed Malikov, Daniel Cormier. And this list can be extended.
Monson’s last fight in MMA (in official stats) is dated October 22, 2016, and for some time he did not compete in martial arts. But not so long ago, Monson returned … In 2021, without any luck, he lost in a duel under the rules of boxing against Timur Nikulin, in February 2022 he lost against Alexander Emelianenko in a hand to hand combat. Although Monson was to be beaten there as well, he still looked competitive.
Now Monson will once again step into the cage against the outrageous Datsik, who recently really got into the sport and fights regularly, mostly under boxing rules. The latest fight, listed on the authoritative Sherdog portal, is a November 2019 meeting with Andrey Kirsanov.

During the official press conference, Datsik and Monson spoke respectfully to each other. The meeting took place on the day of the Russian airborne troops.

– In fights without rules, you can do a lot of fun things. There are many restrictions in boxing, so you have to hold back. And here you can use all kinds of Mortal Combat cheats.
– Monson is a master of submissions (successful pain or choke hold), and you are going to be weird. You are not afraid that your adversary catches up with you?
