Shara’s Ball fought with Antonio Trocoli , who rushed to Riyadh, landing on the morning of the weigh-in. The huge 195-centimeter Trocoli even managed to gain the required weight, but it turned out to be its maximum. During the entire fight, he received piercing kicks and body kicks from Sharabutdin, and in the third round, for some reason, he set a record: he did not land a single blow in two minutes and a half. When the two and a half minutes were up, Trocoli was eliminated, as expected. The second performance of Shara Bullet in the UFC again turned into a mini-festival: during the week of the fight, Magomedov showed extreme relaxation, entered the fight under Tupac, threw almost all possible kicks and remembered the date June 22 in Russia. In general, he is now truly one of the brightest Russians in the UFC.
What are we talking about:
— According to the tournament results, you received a bonus of $50,000. What are you going to spend it on?
— Money is always necessary, especially for fighters, because before that, life was starving. This is a very nice bonus for me. To be honest, I always wanted to make money and I worked hard to achieve it. When I fought in Russia, I showed some colorful fights. But a bonus of 50,000 rubles and 50,000 dollars – you see, the difference is big. How will I share? I don’t know yet, but I will give something to my friends who supported me during the preparation, I will give them gifts.
— Have you received any gifts from the sheikhs here?
—To be honest, that hasn’t happened yet. Not only from the sheikhs, but from my native country, I did not receive any bonuses. Cars and apartments – even more. It doesn’t exist yet, perhaps only in dreams and fantasies.
— ASA Vice President Aslanbek Badaev was invited to comment on your fight. He congratulated you on your victory, said you did well, but at the same time you seemed like a “raw fighter” to him. What can you answer to this?
– Nothing.
— Do you consider yourself a “raw” fighter?
– What does “raw” mean? I think that’s the wrong word to describe a fighter. If he says it, stick to it.
— In the third round, your opponent didn’t land a single hit in two and a half minutes, despite the fact that you threw a lot of punches. Didn’t you find it strange that the battle took place like this?
— In the first round, I accomplished the task assigned to me well. After that, he had no choice but to endure my beatings. Because the damage I did to him was enough to stop him completely. I knocked off two of his limbs, two of his legs. And I got some good body shots in the first round, his breathing wasn’t the same as it was at the start of the round. In the clinch I also squeezed all the juice out of him. He had no choice but to wait for me to finish. And then I already got on board.
— In your training camp, there was Abdulbari Guseinov, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt from St. Petersburg, and Marat Gafurov. Should I tell them thank you for working well on the net now?
– Yes, I learned some skills from Abdulbari. We docked with him at training camp. Marat Gafurov and his room also helped a lot. To be honest, when I was preparing Bruno Silva, I didn’t go to the fight. Due to his 23 wins, 21 were knockouts. It was important for me not to get knocked out. He transferred me, but it didn’t make me cold, hot or painful. And when you are eliminated, your career can end there. That’s why I take these things seriously. Everyone told me that even when he’s lost, he doesn’t throw himself at my feet. But in my fight, he became a fighter.
— Most quoted news story: Dana White said it’s unlikely you’ll be able to perform in America. Did you see this news and understand why?
— I only saw the news when I went on social media. Let’s see, everything is possible.
“He probably meant whether or not the commission would admit you due to an eye injury.” Have you ever thought about this?
— I heard that there are complex and strict sports commissions. But so far I have fought everywhere and there have been no problems. For me, many impossible things become possible if you have a good desire and motivation.
— Robert Whittaker won the main fight of the evening against your compatriot Ikram Aliskerov. Did you imagine yourself fighting with Whittaker?
— I like the fighter Robert Whittaker – very technical. I like his fighting style. In fact, for me, this is the most stylistically difficult option. But I’m ready to fight with him, because the way he hits is the way he gets. And any blow to our fight could be the last. He’s a good guy, we met and talked. He came up to me, shook my hand, took a photo and said “nice to meet you”. I wished him good luck before the fight.
— Many fighters say that when they attack with low blows throughout the fight, their legs swell and hurt. Now that the adrenaline has already released you, could you throw a low kick without pain?
– I think so. I have faced these problems throughout my career. And today, I didn’t see my opponent blocking me. In Muay Thai, we fought every day. And the next day, a part of the body may no longer work. And by the end of the competition, you could only perform two strikes with one hand or one knee. But there is such a thing that when you really need it, you can use it.
– Today, after the fight, you said brilliant words, remembering the date June 22. Did you have this in mind before the tournament or did it just come from emotions?
– Yes, we all know this date. I wanted to dedicate this victory to our people who fought the Nazis. And he continues to do so.
— Your brother fought against Rasul Mirzaev and lost. What can you say?
— My brother has preparation problems. This time it was absolutely terrible for him. It can’t even be called preparation. We just didn’t talk about everything after the fight – about taking part in Rasul’s victory, about making excuses and blaming something. He just shouldn’t have agreed to this fight. We actually let him out for one round, because at the end of the round he was already white and he couldn’t be released for the next round. But he had confidence in himself, he’s an older brother, I can’t contradict him and tell him not to fight.
He only recovered from the coronavirus a week before the fight. To be honest, we were both sick for five days, we were even depressed. The illness was very serious. We were released at the same time, but he had a week left before the fight and I had a month left. I was in the mountains and I knew that after a while they would let me go anyway. I have a strong immune system. And his immunity was weakened, he fought weakly, but did not want to ruin the organization and Rasul. They knew he would only have a chance if he succeeded. He understood it, but for some reason he decided to use his politeness.
