President of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili told that all admitted athletes signed a protocol agreeing to participate in the Paris Summer Olympics with neutral status.
Earlier, Mamiashvili told that except for Veronica Chumikova, who refused to go to the Olympics for health reasons, none of the wrestlers refused to participate in the Olympics.
— For now, only Chumikova will not go to the Olympics. Concerning the other athletes: we will talk about everything with them. All athletes, except Veronica, signed a protocol agreeing to participate in the Olympic Games in neutral status. There is still no clarity on the logistics of going to the Olympics if the final decision is made to go to France.
If we talk about additional costs, then everything that was planned is implemented. There is no need to talk about our delegation to France, because the question is still being clarified regarding which specialists should go there, namely doctors and massage therapists. The IOC had no additional requirements. Yesterday there was another congress, I haven’t heard anything new,” Mamiashvili told .
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) last week named 14 Russian athletes who, as of June 15, had received neutral status to participate in the 2024 Games. Among them are ten wrestling representatives: Nachyn Mongush, Shamil Mamedov, Arslan Bagaev, Abdulla Kurbanov, Alan Ostaev, Magomed Murtazaliev, Natalya Malysheva, Chumikova, Alina Kasabieva and Elizaveta Petlyakova.
The Paris Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11.
