Athletistic / Boxing. The absolute world heavyweight boxing champion, Ukrainian Alexander Usik, refuses the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt. Usik did this so that Britons Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois could fight for him.
“The IBF belt is my gift to you on September 21, 2024. The world loves the strong. Your friend, the absolute heavyweight world champion Alexander Usik,” Usik wrote on social media.
The fight between Joshua and Dubois will take place on September 21 in London.
Alexander Usik has 22 victories and remains an undefeated boxer. The 37-year-old Ukrainian will soon begin preparations for a rematch with another Briton, Tyson Fury.
Note that on June 24, the IBF lifted sanctions against Russia and reinstated Russian boxers in its ranking.
