The famous former world champion does not believe that his countryman is right in this situation.
Ricky Hatton reacted to the words of Tyson Fury, who saw his victory in the fight against Alexander Usik.
The British ex-world champion in two weight categories believes that what his compatriot said was wrong.
According to Hatton, the Ukrainian won a fair victory, because the fight took place on neutral territory, and Fury’s words could be met with the judges of the rematch.
“I think it’s bravado. I think the fight was close, but I think the best man won. I don’t know if Tyson is a little burned out or if he is trying to influence the judges in the rematch when he said he does ‘ I didn’t think he would win in Saudi Arabia.
I don’t know why this might be true. Tyson from Great Britain, Alexander from Ukraine, the fight took place in Saudi Arabia. I don’t see any advantage here in terms of judging,” Hatton told Froch on Fighting.
We remind you that Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by split decision and became the first absolute heavyweight champion since 1999. The rematch is scheduled for December 21st.
Earlier, Usyk announced his relinquishment of the IBF championship belt.
