“I have a training session planned” – Glukhov explained what he will do after receiving a Russian passport

MMA fighter Konstantin Glukhov spoke to about his plans after obtaining Russian citizenship.

The 44-year-old fighter, who was previously a Latvian citizen, received a passport from the Russian Federation under the compatriots repatriation program. Glukhov has been practicing MMA since 2006 and has fought MMA and kickboxing fights with Alexander Emelianenko, Vladimir Mineev and Mikhail Gazaev.

— You received a passport as a citizen of the Russian Federation, but what was your education like these days?

— It turns out now that I went to St. Petersburg for 10 days. I have family there and I also need to develop culturally. That’s why I trained there, the last training was on Monday. I’ve gotten bigger now, I’m gaining a little weight, so far I haven’t hit anyone and I haven’t been hit. And there were probably training sessions before the fight with Vladimir Mineev. Then there was an injury, then another, then I made these documents.

— It’s 12 o’clock in the afternoon, you have received your passport, what will you do next?

— I don’t know, I actually have a workout scheduled today. Well, now I’m going to go home, have a snack and at 3-4pm I’ll try to workout.

— So there won’t be a celebratory dinner?

– I don’t know, maybe tomorrow. The weather is nice today, you can go there, swim, sunbathe.

— Where is your passport as a Latvian citizen and what will you do with it?

– Nothing yet. While he’s at home.

— Before you, Jeff Monson and Roy Jones publicly obtained citizenship. Do you feel a little more Russian than them?

“I believe everything happened as it should.” I am where I am supposed to be. Because if, say, I was born and raised in Mexico or America or Japan, then the sensations would probably be different.

– What is the first thing you need to do now?

— Well, I couldn’t open the NIF last year, I found out about the options through my asylum documents. It turns out that I can’t officially work. I have the SNILS, I opened the compulsory health insurance.

— Do you want to open your own school?

– Maybe. But now, to open a school, you need not only a name, but also funding. And to come to a ready-made gym, where you will be one of the coaches… I don’t know yet. “I really want to play a few more times,” Glukhov told .
