The promoter is leaning towards Anthony to win
Promoter Bob Arum commented on the upcoming fight between the former world champion Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KO) and the IBF heavyweight belt holder Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KO).
“I think this is an excellent fight. Dubois is an amazing fighter, as is Joshua. It will be a big event in England. I think the chances in this fight are 50/50. If I had to bet on anyone, I would bet on Joshua. But it’s a very good fight.”
The fight will take place on September 21. The venue for the event will be London’s Wembley Stadium. In it, Dubois will defend the IBF heavyweight world title, which he received after the Ukrainian Alexander Usik gave up the belt.
The fight will be the headliner of a big boxing evening. The undercard will feature fights such as Tyler Denny – Hamza Shiraz, Anthony Kasame – Josh Warrington, Liam Smith – Josh Kelly, Joshua Buatsi – Willie Hutchinson and Mark Chamberlain – Josh Padley.
Dubois finished the fight with Filip Hrgovic in the eighth round. The fight took place as part of the “5 on 5” event in Riyadh. The British heavyweight won the title of “interim” IBF champion in the fight with the Croatian.
Joshua won his last fight against former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou. After the fight, Eddie Hearn called Anthony the number 1 heavyweight boxer in the world. Joshua himself spoke about his desire to hold his next fight in June, but he was offered to postpone the fight until September.
