Russians Magomed Abdulaev, Abdullah Parchiev, Abu-Bakr Kantaev and Valeria Kozlova won gold at the European Youth Judo Championships, which took place in Sofia.
Students of the judo club “Akhmat” Abdulaev (weight category up to 55 kg) and Kantaev (up to 81 kg) defeated Ukrainian representatives Khazar Heidarov and Mikhail Solyanik respectively in the final.
At the awards ceremony, medal-winning Russian and Ukrainian athletes posed together for photojournalists.
Parchiev and Kozlova became the winners of the tournament in weights up to 66 and 52 kg, respectively.
Silver medalists at the European Junior Championship were Russians Timur Davidov (up to 73 kg), Alexandra Shestopalova (up to 57 kg), Victoria Martynenko (up to 63 kg) and Zlata Suprunenko (up to 70 kg). The bronze medalists are Yaroslav Bunakov (up to 66 kg), Sofya Zakharova (up to 48 kg) and Anna Petrunina (over 70 kg).
