Athletistic / MMA. American mixed martial arts fighter Michael Chandler says the UFC has offered him a fight with the promotion’s lightweight champion, Russia’s Islam Makhachev.

“I was offered to fight Makhachev in October. If the “pinky finger” is ready by September, let’s do it!” Chandler wrote on his social media page.

In the summer of 2024, Michael Chandler was supposed to fight former two-time UFC champion Conor McGregor, but that fight was canceled due to the Irishman’s pinky finger injury.

Islam Makhachev has 26 wins and one loss in his mixed martial arts career. Early in the morning of June 2 (Moscow time), he defeated American Dustin Poirier in the main fight of the UFC 302 tournament. The 32-year-old Russian won by choke in the fifth round. After the fight, Makhachev, in a flash interview right in the octagon, announced his desire to fight for the welterweight title.

Michael Chandler fought 31 fights in mixed martial arts – winning 23 and losing 8.
