Hearn: Joshua is confident in his plan against Usyk

According to the promoter, the Briton will not make mistakes in the first fight

British promoter Eddie Hearn stated that his ward, ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshuaconfident in his plan for a return fight with a Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.

“I think Anthony is confident in his fight plan, confident in what he needs to do. He knows the mistakes he made in the first fight and must correct them,” said the promoter.

“If you lose, then you are inferior to the best fighter in your weight. In this case, you should start over and become a contender again.

“If Joshua wins, I believe that the fight with Fury will take place,” concluded Hearn.

Earlier, the ex-world champion, and now an expert on British television, Johnny Nelson, said that in the first fight, Joshua tried to impose his fighting style on his opponent, which Usyk was well prepared for. According to Nelson, the Briton should change his own traditional tactics.

Hearn also stated that Tyson Fury, who announced his retirement, could return to the ring to fight Joshua. According to him, the fight with Anthony will push the WBC world champion to a new challenge, while Usyk’s victory will not interest Fury.

The second fight between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. Last autumn, the Ukrainian defeated the Briton by unanimous decision and became the world heavyweight champion for the first time.
