Former undisputed world light heavyweight boxing champion Roy Jones Jr. will hold an exhibition match as part of the Moscow Sports Day in Luzhniki, the press service of the event organizers reports.
Jones’ rival, a Russian national, will be a popular musical artist, his name has not yet been specified.
“The ring is a second home for me and I get great pleasure from being there. Of course, I had already finished my professional career, so I had to spend more time preparing, because I heard that my opponent has a lot of experience in martial arts. You can be sure that we will make a great performance on the stage of the Moscow Sports Day and delight all the fans with an interesting fight,” said Jones, 55.
As part of the Moscow Sports Day, which will take place on July 6, more than 20 thematic sports grounds dedicated to extreme sports, streetball, stuntriding, table tennis, chess, football, training, figure skating, fishing and assembly will appear on the territory of the Rubik’s Cube in Luzhniki.
Roy Jones became a silver medalist at the Seoul Olympics and fought 76 fights in the professional ring from 1989 to 2023. The boxer won championship belts in four weight classes.
