The coach of the Russian women’s freestyle wrestling team, Alisheri Ismatzoda, has been remanded in custody until August 28 in the case of promoting terrorist activities, according to the Telegram channel of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction.
According to investigators, Ismatzoda, 32, allegedly participated in financing an organization banned in the Russian Federation.
— By decision of the Shcherbinsky District Court of Moscow, the request of the preliminary investigation authorities to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention in respect of Ismatzoda, accused of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (promotion of terrorist activities), the statement said.
Ismatzoda faces a prison sentence of seven to 15 years.
