World lightweight champion according to the American World Boxing Council (WBC) Shakur Stevenson beat the representative of Germany Artyom Harutyunyan in the main fight of the Newark (USA) tournament.
The fight went the full distance. After 12 rounds, the judges unanimously gave the victory to Stevenson, who defended his lightweight title. Judges’ scores: 119-109, 118-110, 116-112.
Undefeated, Stevenson extended his record to 23 wins (10 by KO). Harutyunyan suffered the third defeat of his career with 12 wins (7 by KO).
In the co-main event of the evening, Brazilian Robson Conceicao defeated American O’Shakey Foster by split decision to become the new WBC super featherweight world champion.
