Russian freestyle wrestler Andrei Midlovets won a gold medal at the European Junior Championships (U-20), which ended in Novi Sad (Serbia).
In the final fight in the weight category up to 61 kg, the Russian defeated the representative of Azerbaijan Jamal Abasov with a score of 6:1.
Russian wrestlers Ibragim Kadiev (up to 86 kg), Mustafagadzhi Malachdibirov (up to 92 kg) and Khabib Davudgadzhiev (up to 125 kg) also won gold medals.
Russian Tamir Yeshinimaev won bronze in the weight category up to 74 kg.
On Saturday, Lev Pavlov (up to 57 kg), Magomed Baitukaev (up to 70 kg) and Said Saidulov (up to 79 kg) brought gold medals to the Russian team.
The women’s team won two gold, two silver and four bronze medals at the European Championships. The winners were Olga Ovchinnikova (up to 53 kg) and Alina Shevchenko (up to 68 kg), silver was won by Elena Kurova (up to 59 kg) and Diana Titova. Bronze medals were won by Violetta Biryukova (up to 50 kg), Ekaterina Chikanova (up to 55 kg), Dolzhon Tsyngueva (up to 57 kg) and Margarita Salnazaryan (up to 65 kg).
