The President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) Mikhail Mamiashvili told that after the European Junior Championships, where the Russian team won 25 medals, the federation will have the task of retaining all promising wrestlers.

The European Junior Championships were held in Serbia from June 24 to July 7. Russian wrestlers won 25 medals, including 12 gold.

— The Russian junior team has had a new coach since March — Zelimkhan Khuseynov. Anyway, it seems that the team has goals, objectives and work is underway. We held the Russian Championship in Grozny, there were very hot fights that formed the composition of the European Championship. Seven gold medals in freestyle wrestling alone, this is the age up to 21, in fact, our tomorrow, our future. The most difficult task will be to keep all these guys, because in the future they will compete with the main team.

“I am glad that among the winners there is a very wide geography: two boys from Yakutia, from Dagestan – a forge of talents, from Chechnya, from Buryatia. The wider the geography, the better. Fortunately, we have very qualified and high-quality coaches in many regions,” Mamiashvili told .
