Bogachuk: Ortiz is a very strong opponent, but I will show that I am the best in the division

Ortiz has 21 straight stoppage wins.

WBC Interim Light Middleweight Champion Sergey Bogachuk (24-1, 23 KO) commented on the upcoming fight with the holder of the WBO International welterweight belt Virgil Ortiz (21-0, 21 KO).

“I worked hard to win this ‘interim’ WBC world title and now I’m going to defend it. I have to do this to achieve my goal of becoming the undisputed world champion. I know Vergil Ortiz, he’s a very strong opponent, but on August 10th I’ll show that I’m the best in the division.”

The fight between Bogachuk and Ortiz will take place on August 10. The event will take place in Las Vegas at the Michelob Ultra arena in the famous Mandalay Bay casino. The interim WBC title, which Bogachuk holds, will be at stake.

Let us recall that the Ukrainian confidently defeated the American Brian Mendoza in a fight that took place in late March in Las Vegas. Following 12 rounds, all judges gave the victory to Bogachuk – 118-110, 117-111 and 117-111.

Vergil Ortiz defeated Tomas Dulorme from Puerto Rico in his last fight. The American has won all his fights ahead of schedule.
