President of the Russian Judo Federation Sergei Soloveichik told that the International Olympic Committee (IOC), after admitting only four Russian judokas, had started sending personal invitations, including to athletes who did not qualify for the 2024 Games.
At the end of June, the IOC allowed four Russian judokas to participate in the 2024 Olympics in neutral status. In total, the Russian team had 12 quotas for participation in the Games – 7 men and 5 women. After the IOC list was published, Soloveitchik told that Russian judokas would not participate in the 2024 Games.
— After its decision, the IOC started sending personal invitations, didn’t it?
— As far as I know, none of our employees have confirmed their participation. The IOC has started sending individual invitations, even to those who were not selected for the Games on the basis of sport, Soloveichik told .
The Paris Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11.
