Photo on social networks of a Bashkir MP and MMA fighter Jeff Monson will not be investigated by the parliamentary ethics committee, said the chairman of the state assembly – the Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Konstantin Tolkachev.
Earlier, Monson posted on a social network a photo wearing a T-shirt with a swastika and the caption “fascism then,” next to a Star of David with the inscription “fascism now.” Later, the Mash Batash Telegram channel reported that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation would check Monson in connection with the display of Nazi symbols.
— The image contains a political message and a clear condemnation of the manifestations of fascism in any form and in any part of the world.
Our colleague’s civic position is well known; he cannot be suspected of sympathizing with Nazism. Jeff Monson is an active anti-fascist. He shows his position in everyday affairs, sending humanitarian aid to the area of the Northern Military District, implementing social projects and involving children from disadvantaged families in sports. He always supports bills aimed at achieving the goals of a special military operation and supporting the participants of the Northern Military District.
Perhaps this image is not the best way to express sympathy for the people of Gaza, but the anti-fascist rhetoric here is beyond doubt, the press service of the Bashkortostan parliament quoted Tolkachev as saying.
Monson surrendered his American passport in 2023 and now has only Russian citizenship.
