Athletistic / MMA. Chairman of the State Assembly – Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev responded to the scandalous photograph of Bashkir MP and legendary mixed martial arts fighter Jeff Monson. Earlier on social networks, Monson himself posted a photo wearing a T-shirt with a swastika.

“This image contains a political message and a clear condemnation of the manifestations of fascism in all its forms and in any part of the world.

Monson’s civic position is well known; one cannot suspect him of sympathizing with Nazism. Jeff is an active anti-fascist. He shows his position every day by his actions, sending humanitarian aid to the area of the Northern Military District, implementing social projects and involving children from disadvantaged families in sports.

“It is possible that this image is not the best way to express sympathy for the people of Gaza, but the anti-fascist rhetoric here does not raise any doubts,” Tolkachev was quoted as saying by the Kurultai press service.

Monson’s photograph bears the caption “Fascism then” and next to it is a Star of David with the caption “Fascism now.” Later, the media reported that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation would check Jeff Monson in connection with the display of Nazi symbols, which is prohibited by Russian law.

In 2016, the 53-year-old American became a citizen of the Lugansk People’s Republic. In May 2018, Monson received Russian citizenship. He is also an honorary citizen of Abkhazia.

Jeff Monson has become famous for his MMA fights. The mixed martial arts veteran has 60 wins and 26 losses.
