Russians Alexei Mazur and Tigran Uzlyan successfully completed the weigh-in procedure ahead of the fight for the WBA Asia lightweight belt.
The 10-round fight will take place on Thursday in St. Petersburg. Mazur weighed 60.8 kg and Uzlyan weighed 61.2 kg.
Mazur has 10 victories in the professional ring. In 2024, he was supposed to box twice for the WBA Asia belt, but in March his opponent was unable to fight for medical reasons, and then the April tournament in Yaroslavl was postponed. Uzlyan has nine wins and one loss.
The second fight in the professional ring will be held tonight by the winner of the Youth Olympic Games, European junior champion, world championship medalist, two-time vice-champion of Russia Ilya Popov. His opponent will be Tikhon Netesov. Popov’s weight is 63.75 kg, and Netesov’s – 63.7 kg.
The tournament will be broadcast live on July 11 on channel, the broadcast will start from St. Petersburg at 21:15 Moscow time.
