Russian boxers Muslim Gadjimagomedov And Albert Batyrgaziev successfully completed the weigh-in procedure on the eve of the WBA title fights.
On July 12 in Serpukhov near Moscow, the main battle of the Stavok League tournament took place. Gadzhimagomedov (3-0, KO 2), two-time IBA Night of Champions world champion, 2020 Olympic finalist and 2024 European champion, will fight for the vacant WBA bridgeweight world champion belt with Chinese Zhang Zhaoxin (12-2-1, CO 7). Gadzhimagomedov’s weight was 99.85 kg, Zhaoxin’s – 100.5 kg.
At the weigh-in ceremony, IBA President Umar Kremlev said the winner of this fight would receive a convertible, subject to a quick win before the fifth round.
In the co-main event “Betting League. 2020 IBA Night of Champions Olympic champion Batyrgaziev (10-0, KO 7) will challenge for the interim WBA super featherweight title with Ireland’s Jono Carroll (24-2-1, KO 7). Batyrgaziev weighed in at 58.86 kg, Carroll weighed in at 58.54 kg.
In the main card of the tournament, the 2024 European champion and 2023 world bronze medalist, Russian Dmitry Dvali, will meet the 2016 Olympic champion, 2019 world champion and 2021 Asian champion, Uzbek Shakhobiddin Zoirov. Dvali’s weight was 53.45 kg, Zoirov’s – 53.5 kg.
Also in the show, IBA European champion in the weight category up to 60 kg, Russian Artur Subkhankulov (6-0, KO 4), will meet Tanzanian Kesei Abeid Kasongo (15-0, KO 13) in a six-round ranking bout. Subkhankulov’s weight is 59.9 kg, and the African’s is 59.44 kg. The 2015 World Championship silver medalist and two-time European champion, Russian Vasily Egorov, will face Filipino Jose Espinas (21-7, KO 12) in the 51 kg category. Egorov’s weight is 50.9 kg, Espinas’s is 50.6 kg.
The fight for a full-fledged world title belt will take place in Russia for the first time since December 2021 – then in Yekaterinburg, Russian Dmitry Bivol defended the WBA light heavyweight belt in a fight with his compatriot Umar Salamov.
