The former coach of the Ukrainian boxer still considers it a controversial issue in the fight.
James Ali Bashir is still undecided about the illegal striking of Daniel Dubois in his fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
According to the specialist, if the British hit the Ukrainian in the fifth round, even now he cannot give himself an accurate answer.
“I wasn’t the one who took that punch from Daniel Dubois when he fought Usyk, Alexander said the punch fell below the belt it was – the punch was applied lower.
But on closer inspection, the question remains debatable as to whether the punch is below the belt. But again: I’m not the one who missed, so I don’t know,” said Ali Bashir in an interview with Seconds Out.
Let’s remember that James Ali Bashir was part of the Briton’s coaching staff in that fight, and previously coached Alexander Usik. In that fight, Usyk finally defeated Dubois by technical knockout.
