This Friday, July 12, the ONE Championship league organized the ONE Friday Fights 70 tournament, which featured two previously undefeated Russian fighters – Amir Abdulmuslimov and Gadzhimurad Amirzhanov.
In total, the card included 11 fights under MMA and Muay Thai rules. Four fighters received bonuses in the amount of $10,000 for their outstanding performances. Among them, the winner of the main fight of the evening was Scotsman Stephen Irwin, who knocked out Thai opponent Focus PK Saenchai in the first round of the fight under Muay Thai rules. The tournament took place in Bangkok at Lumpini Stadium and was broadcast live in more than 190 countries around the world.
Amirzhanov defeated Pereira (MMA, lightweight) – unanimous decision victory.
Gadzhimurad Amirzhanov continued his winning streak in his professional career and won his third consecutive victory in the ONE League. The representative of the ONE Chance team, led by Anita Malykhina, upset Brazilian Mateus Pereira. The fight took place in a lighter weight category for Amirzhanov – 70 kg. The fight lasted three rounds, during which the Russian kickboxing champion demonstrated excellent wrestling and wrestling skills, attacking Pereira and taking him to the ground. Already at the beginning of the first frame, he threw a perfect two and, with lightning speed, grabbed the opponent’s neck, threw him to the ground and began to choke D’Arcy, while simultaneously blocking the opponent’s legs in order to tighten the grip. After the three-round match, all judges gave the victory to Gadzhimurad Amirzhanov, who now has a 6-0 record.
Abdulmuslimov suffered a split decision loss to Petnangan (Muay Thai, 58.97 kg).
The second ONE League bout ended unsuccessfully for 21-year-old Amir Abdulmuslimov, who was an undefeated professional heading into this fight. The veteran kickboxer Abdulsalimov has shown in past fights that he is well-suited to the rules and style of Muay Thai, but his skills were not enough to overcome veteran Thai scalp hunter Petnamngam PK Saenchai. A champion at the prestigious Rajademnen Stadium, Phetnangam already had 186 wins to his name before meeting the Russian. He was unable to defeat Abdulmuslimov earlier than expected, who displayed great technique and a desperate temperament. The judges’ opinions were ultimately divided, but Petnangan took the victory. Abulmuslimov’s record now stands at 6-1.
