Vadim Kornilov, manager of the WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitri Bivol told that his team had signed a contract for a fight with the holder of the WBC, WBO, IBF belts Artur Beterbiev back in late 2023 before the fight with Britain’s Lyndon Arthur.
The fight for the absolute light heavyweight world title between Bivol and Beterbiev was scheduled for June 1, but the fight was postponed due to Beterbiev’s injury. The fight is scheduled to take place on October 12 in Riyadh. On Friday, Beterbiev said he had not yet signed a contract, but there was an agreement in principle to hold a meeting.
“From our side, the contract for the fight with Beterbiev was signed last year on the eve of the fight against Lyndon Arthur,” Kornilov told .
Undefeated, Bivol has won 23 times in the professional ring, Beterbiev has 20 wins in 20 fights.
