International Olympic Committee (IOC ) confirmed on the official website that the Russian freestyle wrestler Shamil Mamedov declined an invitation to perform at the Paris Olympics.
On Saturday, the Russian Wrestling Federation told that Mamedov would miss the Olympics due to a relapse of his knee injury.
Currently, according to the IOC website, 15 Russian athletes have accepted the invitation to participate in the 2024 Games. These are Tamara Dronova, Alena Ivanchenko, Gleb Syritsa (all cycling), Angela Bladtseva (trampoline), Daniil Medvedev, Roman Safiullin, Ekaterina Alexandrova, Mirra Andreeva, Pavel Kotov, Diana Schneider, Elena Vesnina (all tennis), Zakhar Petrov, Alexey Korovashkov, Olesya Romasenko (all – kayaking and canoeing), Evgeny Somov (swimming).
The Paris Summer Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11.
