Boxers in talks to hold fight in Australia
Former Lightweight World Champion George Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs) and IBF light welterweight title holder Liam Paro (25-0, 15 KOs) are in talks to fight, with the bout tentatively slated to take place in November in both men’s home country of Australia.
It is noted that Kambosos is ready to move up from lightweight (up to 135 pounds) to the junior welterweight division (up to 140 pounds) for another championship opportunity. Interestingly, George has lost three of his last four fights.
In May, Kambosos lost to Vasyl Lomachenko by technical knockout. The Australian lost the IBO lightweight title and failed to win the IBF belt.
Paro won a unanimous decision over Subriel Matias in June to become the new IBF light welterweight champion. The Australian remains undefeated in his professional career.
