Gvozdyk: I believe Lomachenko has been training hard all this time because he is obsessed with boxing

Lomachenko’s next fight is scheduled for October 22

Former World Light Heavyweight Champion Alexander Gvozdyk sure that the stellar Ukrainian lightweight Vasily Lomachenko ready to get back in the ring.

“I don’t have a lot of information about the return of Lomachenko, because I haven’t communicated with him for a long time, but if they say it means they want it. They never just say anything. And I believe that all this time Lomachenko has been training very hard because he is very dedicated, I would say obsessed with boxing. But this stupid intrusion did not allow him to fight, because he has moral values.

“However, I believe that Lomachenko trained. If he says that he is ready, then, believe me, he will be. This is not the guy who jumps into the ring unprepared, ”said Alexander Gvozdyk in an interview with the YouTube channel WHEN THE SMOKE CLEARS.

As Top Rank previously reported, Lomachenko’s next fight is scheduled for October 22.

Promoter Eddie Hearn called Lomachenko-Devin Haney a “grand” possible fight, while WBO and WBC super featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson said he was ready to fight Lomachenko at any time.

Lomachenko fought his last fight in December last year, defeating Richard Commey by unanimous decision.

Subsequently, Lomachenko could fight George Kambosos, but pulled out against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Gvozdyk retired in the summer of 2020. The Ukrainian fought his last fight in the fall of 2019, losing to Artur Beterbiev by technical knockout in the tenth round.
