Athletistic / MMA. UFC heavyweight champion, American mixed martial arts fighter Jon Jones, has landed in big trouble. He is accused of intimidating drug testing officers.
Until the next court hearing in the case, Jones was prohibited from possessing firearms or other dangerous weapons, was ordered to abstain from alcohol or drugs, and was also required to notify the court of his change of address. A date for the next hearing in the high-profile case has not yet been set.
Note that Jones pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanors during a hearing in Bernalillo County Municipal Court. If convicted on both counts, the MMA fighter faces 10 months in jail and a total fine of $1,500.
On March 30, doping control officers showed up at the fighter’s home. Their report states that Jones allegedly took one of the officers’ cellphones and then asked why the officers were coming to see him so early. Afterward, John said, “Do you know what happens to people who come to my house? They commit suicide.”
