The Finnish boxer’s suspension will last until September 17, 2025
Finnish super heavyweight Robert Helenius received a two-year disqualification for doping. The boxer’s suspension is valid from September 18, 2023 to September 17, 2025.
Helenius failed a drug test ahead of his fight with Anthony Joshua in August 2023. The test showed a positive reaction to the banned substance clomiphene. The Finnish boxer insisted that he did not take the drug intentionally.
Joshua knocked out Robert in the seventh round. Recall that the Finnish boxer was urgently invited to the fight instead of Dillian Whyte, who had also previously failed a doping test.
The 40-year-old boxer is recovering from neck surgery and Helenius has not yet decided on his future.
Robert suffered his fifth career defeat in the fight with Joshua. Before that, Helenius lost by knockout to Deontay Wilder in the first round.
