Finnish boxer Robert Helen disqualified for two years for an anti-doping rule violation, according to the UK Anti-Doping Agency (UKAD) website.
Helenius underwent doping control on August 12, 2023, after his fight with Britain’s Anthony Joshua. The analysis showed the presence of the banned substance clomiphene in the 40-year-old boxer’s body.
Helenius said the clomiphene could have entered his system by eating eggs and chicken. However, following a request from UKAD, the athlete was unable to prove that the products he had consumed before the fight came from chickens that had been injected with clomiphene.
The Finn’s disqualification period will end on September 17, 2025.
Helenius had 32 wins and five losses in the professional ring.
