In the weekly ONE Friday Fights series of the ONE Championship league, twelve pairs of Muay Thai and MMA fighters met in the ring at Lumpini Stadium (Bangkok). Four athletes represented Russia. All won and three of them received $10,000 bonuses.
Bondarchuk vs Saturday (MMA)
Ivan Bondarchuk made a successful ONE Championship debut, earning a unanimous decision victory over Nachin Sat, representing Mongolia and Russia. The fight took place at featherweight (154 lbs). In the first round, Bondarchuk dominated, attempting a choke multiple times, but Sat was able to defend. In the second round, Sat stepped up his game, landing powerful punches in the clinch and ending the round with a throw followed by a series of hard strikes on his downed opponent. In the final round, Bondarchuk captured Sata’s back again, but was warned for holding the ropes. However, Team Archangel Michael won by unanimous decision, improving his record to 10-2-1.
Ilyas Musaev vs Superball (Muay Thai)
Dagestan native Ilyas Musaev, who had previously competed in ONE with varying degrees of success, managed to rehabilitate himself after losing to Yoda IQ in December last year. Facing the experienced Superball (73-22-1) at 64.4 kg, the Thai fighter controlled most of the first round. However, having found weaknesses in the opponent’s defense, Musaev began to deliver precise blows to the legs, slowing Superball down. The result was a five-punch combination that knocked Superball down. In the second round, Musaev continued to work his legs, not giving his opponent the opportunity to counterattack. With a precise and explosive combination at the 55th second of the round, he knocked out his opponent. This victory was the 11th in Musaev’s professional career and earned him a bonus of $10,000.
Dayakaev vs Ongbak (Muay Thai)
Abdulla Dayakaev scored a crushing victory over ONE debutant Ongabak in a Muay Thai bout in the bantamweight (65.8 kg) division. The Russian immediately began to attack actively, but Ongbak put up decent resistance. Dayakaev’s higher speed and accuracy of strikes allowed him to quickly seize the initiative. A precise combination of a left cross and a right hook dropped Ongbak. After recovering, Ongbak tried to continue the fight, but a precise blow from Dayakaev eventually ended the fight. The victory was Dayakaev’s fourth in ONE and 11th overall. For his outstanding performance, he received a bonus of $10,000.
Imangazaliev vs Petmuangsri (Muay Thai)
Asadula Imangazaliev made a successful ONE Championship debut with an impressive win over Phetmuangsri in a 134-pound Muay Thai bout. The Russian immediately went on the attack, throwing punches and kicks. A precise left hook in the middle of a combination knocked Phetmuangsri down. Continuing to attack, Imangazaliev added a few more punches, after which he finished the fight with a spectacular backfist. The win was the fifth of Imangazaliev’s professional career and earned him a $10,000 bonus.
