President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Oumar Kremlev believes that the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC ) Thomas Bach fear of losing his job.
On Tuesday, at the 142nd IOC session in Paris, the decision was taken to exclude the IBA from the list of recognised international federations.
– Thomas Bach is afraid that I will take his place. He will run into the coffin faster than this will happen. If I needed it, I would have won (the IOC elections) in no time, “the correspondent reported, reporting Kremlev’s words.
In April, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) dismissed the IBA’s appeal against the IOC Session’s decision to withdraw the organisation’s recognition. In 2019, the IOC temporarily withdrew the IBA’s recognition status for economic reasons and due to a management crisis within the organisation, and also presented demands for reforms.
Russian and Belarusian boxers, according to the IBA decision, participate in international competitions with national symbols.
