The Ukrainian national team plans to boycott the upcoming 2022 IFMA Muay Thai World Championship due to the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes.
The corresponding statement was made by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
The Muay Thai Youth World Championship is scheduled for August 9-20 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Previously, the International Olympic Committee had recommended that international sports federations ban Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials from participating in international competitions using their national symbols, flags or anthems. However, Russian and Belarusian athletes were allowed to compete under the status of neutral athletes.
