Qualifying fight for the junior middleweight world title according to the International Boxing Federation (IBF) between the Australian Tim Tszyu and American Erickson Lubin canceled, reports Fox Sports Australia .
The fight was scheduled for September 22 in Sydney, Australia. According to the source, Lubin’s team indicated that the boxer would not be able to fight on the proposed date.
Tszyu lost by split decision to American Sebastian Fundora in Las Vegas (USA) at the end of March, suffering the first defeat of his career. Early in the fight, the 29-year-old Australian received a cut. Tszyu failed to defend his World Boxing Organization (WBO) world title and win the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) junior middleweight belt.
