Joe says he’s ready to return to the top of the heavyweight division
British heavyweight Joe Joyce (16-2, 15 KO) commented on the upcoming fight against Derek Chisora (34-13, 23 KO) and named his possible future opponents.
“If I get past Chisora, I’ll still be here. I’m still ready to fight and I’m going after everybody. A good fight would be with Parker, a rematch. I’ll fight any of the top guys. Joshua can get the fight. Dubois can get the fight. They can all get it. Fury and Usyk! I’m going after everybody.”
“I believe I can get back to the top, to the winning track and to my position. I’m still boxing to win the heavyweight title. I reached the top level in the amateurs and won a silver medal at the Olympics. Even though it’s in the past, it probably should have been gold. I’ve had my setbacks, but I’m still here. I’m still alive, I’m still a juggernaut.”
The fight between Joyce and Chisora will take place at the O2 Arena in London. The event is scheduled for July 27. The Kyivstar TV film and television platform will be the exclusive broadcaster of the boxing match in Ukraine.
Recall that 38-year-old Joyce defeated British heavyweight Cash Ali in Birmingham, England, knocking out his opponent in the tenth round. After that, he announced his desire to fight Joseph Parker, Dillian Whyte, Deontay Wilder or Anthony Joshua.
Chisora, 40, has suffered four defeats in his last six fights (twice to Parker, once each to Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury). In August 2023, on the undercard of the Joshua-Whyte fight at the same O2, Derek defeated American Gerald Washington by unanimous decision.
