British boxer Delicious Ory believes he did enough to win his round of 16 match at the Paris Olympics, so he was surprised when the judges awarded the fight to his Armenian opponent David Chaloyan.
The over 92kg fight took place on July 29 and ended with the Armenian boxer winning by split decision. Ori was born in Moscow in 1997, but has lived in England since he was seven years old.
— I was quite surprised with the result. I think I did enough to outdo him. He made a few shots that just caught the judges’ attention,” Ori told talk Sport.
The Paris Olympics will end on August 11.
