The two-time absolute world boxing champion wants to support domestic athletes financially.

Allocating additional prize money to Ukrainian boxers at the Olympics is the personal initiative of Alexander Usik. The two-time absolute world champion himself spoke about it.

According to him, boxing is a sport for the poor, so he wants to separately encourage domestic athletes in the 2024 Games.

“The team does not give me such advice, because it is minus money, it is my own initiative, because I know what boxing is and it is a sport for poor people who want to leave the street and earn of life.

Yes, this is my personal initiative. I don’t want to talk about it, it leaked somewhere, but it is what it is. But they wrote a wrong amount – I offer a little more,” said Usyk in an interview with Volia Space.

Let’s recall that Usik previously named the most difficult moment of the fight with Fury.
