President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Oumar Kremlev said the IBA supports its athletes who competed at the Paris Olympics against competitors with high testosterone levels.
In 2023, the International Boxing Association (IBA) suspended Algerians Iman Khelif and Lin Yuting (Taiwan) from the World Championships in India for failing to meet eligibility criteria. Following gender testing, the athletes were found to have XY chromosomes. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) cleared them to compete in women’s competitions in 2024.
Earlier, Italy’s Angela Carini broke down in tears after refusing to continue her round of 16 up to 66kg boxing match against Khelif at the 2024 Olympics.

Boxing competitions at the Olympic Games are organized by a special unit created by the IOC. In June 2023, the IOC session expelled the IBA from the Olympic movement by a majority vote.
