Athletistic/OI-2024. At the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the IOC will not hold a boxing tournament. This was reported by the organization’s representative Mark Adams.
“The IOC is always trying to find a balance between inclusion and equity, and this is a difficult task, and we will have to pay attention to it. Therefore, we hope that at the 2028 Olympic Games, this sport will not only be spectacular, but also take into account the preferences of all social categories, regardless of their origin. But we are not the International Federation, so we will no longer organize the Olympic boxing tournament. Let’s hope that such an organization will appear in the future,” Adams said at a press briefing.
Let us recall that previously the IOC had excluded the IBA, led by the Russian Umar Kremlev, from the number of internationally recognised federations.
