Russian UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev supported the idea of fighting the Americans Max Holloway .
Makhachev defended his title for the third time in June, defeating American Dustin Poirier. Holloway is scheduled to face UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria of Spain in October.

Holloway fight? Why not. If the UFC decides to make Arman Tsarukyan my next opponent, then no problem, but for me this fight will not be exciting. I need a new name, because I already defeated Armand. The fight with Holloway will be crazy for the fans.
“In the previous fight, Max showed a great performance, he knocked out Justin Gaethje. If he beats Topuria, and it’s a tough fight, and the UFC wants to organize our fight, I’m all for it,” Makhachev said at a press conference.
Makhachev, 32, has 26 wins and one loss in mixed martial arts. Holloway has 26 wins and seven losses.
